Your fall weeknight dinner lineup is here

Classic Family Recipes for Everyday Life

Hi Reader,

Fall officially starts next Tuesday, though my kitchen already switched over to soup and casserole mode a while ago. If your weeknights feel like a sprint between pickup, practice, and dinner, these seven meals are built for exactly that kind of chaos. Minimal chopping, mostly hands-off, and every one of them tastes like you spent way more time on it than you actually did.

A simple, no-fuss chili you can start after work and have on the table before anyone starts asking how much longer.

Dump a few cans and some taco seasoning in a pot, and twenty minutes later you've got a spicy, hearty soup that's even better the next day.

Ground beef, tender vegetables, and barley simmered in a rich tomato broth. Let it go on the stove for an hour, or start it in the crockpot in the morning and forget about it until dinner.

All the flavors of a cheeseburger baked into one dish, with a soft, golden crust that forms right on top as it bakes. No crust to roll out, no layers to fuss with.

Smoky kielbasa, egg noodles, and a creamy sauce baked until the edges turn golden. Good enough for company, easy enough for a Tuesday.

Creamy chicken and pasta bake with a from-scratch sauce, no canned soup involved. Grab a rotisserie chicken and it comes together fast, or assemble it ahead and freeze it for the nights you really don't feel like cooking.

All your favorite pizza toppings, minus the dough, in a bowl you can eat curled up on the couch.

Dawn shared: "Very delish and I love that the waffle is crispy on the outside but soft inside. My batter was very thick, so added a little more milk to thin out."

Pick a recipe for tonight, or grab your grocery list and plan out the whole week while you're at it. Hit reply and tell me which one you're trying first. I read every one.

Classic Family Recipes for Everyday Life Hi Reader, It's officially pumpkin spice season, so this week I pulled together four recipes that cover the whole day: a quick bread for breakfast, a cornbread for supper, and two easy desserts. If you have a can of pumpkin and some warm spices in the pantry, you're most of the way there. Pumpkin Walnut Bread A moist, dense quick bread with cinnamon, nutmeg, and a good crunch from chopped walnuts. There's no rising time, and a warm slice with a little...

Classic Family Recipes for Everyday Life Hi Reader, I found this buttermilk pancakes recipe tucked inside a cookbook that's over 50 years old and after retesting it in my own kitchen, I can tell you it was worth the dig. One batch makes a generous 17 pancakes, tall and fluffy every time. Buttermilk Pancakes Tip: Don't overmix the batter. A few lumps are actually what gives you that light, fluffy rise. Classic Family Recipes for Everyday Life Hi Reader, So I have to tell you about this dinner I've been making on repeat: Taco Spaghetti. Taco night and spaghetti night cook together in one skillet, noodles and all, so there's just one pan to wash when dinner's done. It was a big hit with my kids, and the inspiration came from my easy sausage pasta, a recipe I make a lot for busy weeknights. I swapped in ground sausage here too. It's cheaper by the pound and brings a lot more flavor, no extra...
